Caitlin Cusack
After a life-changing brain injury and the loss of her parents, Michigan musician Caitlin Cusack found healing through songwriting. Her inspiring, piano-driven ballads and pop anthems reflect the award-winning singer-songwriter’s resilient journey, turning pain into purpose and sharing her story with heartfelt honesty.
Her full-band live album, Caitlin Cusack Live at the GRAM, recorded at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, is out now.
While the covers on this release are impressive and expertly chosen, the real heart of the album is in Cusack’s original songs. Several of these tracks carry the theme of letting the universe guide you and accepting that whatever is meant to be will be, even when it doesn’t feel right at first. Everything about this recording feels polished and precise, especially when it comes to Cusack’s piano skills.

In 2023, Caitlin Cusack released her debut EP, Quiet My Mind, a five-song collection inspired by her healing journey. The EP showcases a diverse range of musical styles, from shimmery cinematic pop to folk with an Americana flavor, and amassed more than 15,000 streams on Spotify. Alongside the EP, Cusack shared brain injury resources on her website and recounted her story through various news outlets in West Michigan.
This led to a notable opportunity at TedxMacatawa, where she shared her story at the piano, underscored by original songs, in a TEDx talk titled "Overcoming Brain Injury and Loss: The Healing Power of Music." Her performance garnered front-page press coverage.
Fall 2024 brought the release of her new EP and music video series, The You Carry Me Project, centered around navigating grief, showcasing her hometown, and supporting a local nonprofit dedicated to helping families affected by cancer.
In 2025, Cusack received WYCE Radio Jammie Awards for Best Pop Album for The You Carry Me Project along with the Varnum “Against All Odds Award,” which recognizes a musician who has overcome significant personal adversities to continue creating their music.
Caitlin Cusack Live at the GRAM, a full-band album of originals and covers recorded at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, arrived November 2025 with bonus tracks expected Spring 2026.
